Lots have been happening for the past week. The arrival of an old friend from Switzerland, the lashing of NewUrbanMale, and sleeping in bed with 2 gorgeous ladies.
Diego and I first met 2 years ago during our St Gallen exchange program. I still remember the first day I met the Europeans. It was quite daunting, knowing that the 5 SMU strangers are going to host the 30 Swiss and Germans mix. Nevertheless, picking him up from the budget airport made it seem as if he never left, but just went on a holiday to Thailand for the weekend. Eventhough 5 days in Singapore was quite short, the guys and I tried to make his stay here as comfortable and enjoyable as we could. Midnight pratas, Night Safari, Timbre, Kopitiam and Dim Sum was the few events that filled our time. Bidding farewell seemed easy. I guess I know that one day, I'll visit him at the Alps. One day. One fine day.
Working for OSL, handing out EZ Link cards has been one of the most exciting jobs SMU has ever given to me. Ask JZ if you don't believe. Cutting cardboards and pasting stickers would prove to be one of the hardest task that was handed to us. But we gladly accepted the challenge. During one of the lunch periods, JZ came back and said to me,
"Eh, outside ah, if you were to sleep on a bed, people will play song for you."
Huh? Sleep? Sing song? This I've got to see this. As I took my normal strides towards Kopitiam, I saw a white bed with the word Hair Peace and Bed Peace written nicely on mahjong paper and hung above it. An ah pek looking guy, dressed in his pyjamas, was sitting on the bed and strumming loudly with his guitar. Grinning widely as I easily associated his installation with the one that John Lennon and Yoko Ono had as a sign of protest against the 1975 Vietnam War. Claiming 2-4 million lives was the inevitable result. And they say that war brings peace.
Made wonderful friends, all of whom are artists, painters, designers. We exchanged ideas and experiences on our crafts (I told them that sometimes I sing for drunk people) and I got some invites to some exhibition soon by a curator. Jennifer is her name. Sweeeeeeet. I did a PAINTING!!! I wrote, "Grab a Peace. It's Free". I like. But there were more extraordinary pieces that were drawn by people from the local arts scene. It's going to be on till this Friday so do check it out.
Ok, random stuff here. I love my BP prof. He always ends lessons damn early.
