La Vita E Bella

Life is beautiful

Arts Fest came and go. I remembered being its pioneer batch, its guinea pig. Everything was raw. The people, the performance, the attitude. I like. I like it raw. It shows character to say the least. The relevant people were there. Friends, families who took time to sit and share history in the making. I've had my share and this time, I became the audience and observed how far it has progress. The items were good and I truly applaude the efforts and commitments of the perfomers and organisers. Going through it before, sacrifices had to be made. One think that I saw lacking was its magic. The magic that used to be owned at House 1 back at the Old Bukit Timah Campus. The air from the botanic garden that seemd to drift slowly towards our direction. I miss the air. Truly.

One of the highlights to me were the artistic creations of our own students from Artdicted. I have the utmost respect for people's creations. The time spent on the thought process takes time and being an artist like them, they are perfectionist and are very meticulous about their work.

I was gazing at the installation made by one of the Artdicted students when suddenly one of the directors of OSL tapped me from behind and said that the President would like to meet me. Huh? -scratches head- Whatever for? I quickly finished the last piece of chips from my hands and wiped my hands on my jeans. Emergency mah.

"Yes Sir?" I asked.

"I'm a big fan of yours" he said. Huh? Say that again? I mean, coming for the mouth of somboody that big is quite a shocker to me. I really wanted to chat with the President but apparently, the host started to drag him to listen to the creator of the first installation. Darn! Wanted to ask whether I could chill out at his office one day for the fun of it. That'll be anice parting gift for me before I leave SMU.
