Esplanade

I used to be the audience, sitting down and cheering on the performers on stage at the Waterfront outdoor stage. And everytime I watch them perform, a mixture of feelings began to brew in me. Feelings of frustration and jealousy settles in my irrational mind because deep down I know, I'm just waiting for time for my turn to step on stage and entertain the crowd.

I still remembered the time when I was sitting in front of the dark empty stage in December and thought hard to myself that if I truly believe that one day it will happen, then it will happen. And true enough, the huge crowd that stretched across the stage drew testament to my belief. I have higher sights to my own self. This is not enough. This I believe is just a stepping stone to what I truly believe in and hope that more such pleasant surprises awaits me. Time to be focus now and no more digressing. I need to start writing more and start being proactive. Not many have the patience to wait for me. I'm sorry. It'll come. Just hold on a lil longer and it can happen. I take pride in my own compositions, What Am I, Nothing Without you and One Day are just previews to other songs that are just waiting to be heard. But it won't come soon. I need to focus. The journey of a true musician is never easy. Who said it is? Ask the Beatles.

In life, you must have a certain goal or objective. For me, I want to be respected as a dedicated and professional musicians who is serious in his work. Fame and money are by products of my goal. If you work for your by product, no matter what field you are in, then, the quality of work wouldn't be there anymore. The sincerity of putting in your best in your work is absent. I'm very self-critical of my own work. I am never satisfied with my work and will strive to reach as close as perfection before I can truly sit down and smile at my work. I really cannot accept substandard work. Perhaps my expectations are too high because I really want to make this a career. Nevertheless, it can only be a good thing whereby, the listeners will enjoy the song and appreciate the lyrics.

I thank those who took the time to come down and watch 7 Till Dawn's performance despite the long wait and upcoming exams. We'll be playing at BoonLay this Sunday. Shall keep you guys notified. Take care.
