Wat Pho

Ok, got a phonecall from Edison and was told that Ajaan (Professor) Dong was coming down. He's the translator dude from Khon Kaen university when we went up to Northeast Thailand.

This is Dong. He's the funkiest professor I've ever met in my whole life.

Had breakfast before we went seperate ways. Edison and I were invited to go to Wat Pho to act as tourist so that some of the Chula students could practice speaking English to us.

Shrouded in cotton.

This are actually pictures of the teachings of the traditional Thai massage.

These are actually historical relics, untouched and preserved.

These statues is actually demonstrating the traditional way of self massage I think. DIY style. hehehe... The one on the right has a good model pose.

A few more. Try it. Who knows, you might feel some effect.

Seperate my physicality from my soul.

Ancient architecture.

Cotton.

So I met my tour guide, Nat (left) and Ploy (right). They were the ones who showed me around Wat Pho and its significance.

I think some of you out there have heard about the famous Reclining Buddha in Bangkok.

Everybody, meet the Reclining Buddha.

Contrast.

This drawing depicts the life in the ancient days. The day to day happenings of Krung Thip.

The length.

You can opt to go back home from Tha Chang to Saphan Kwan and then take the BTS.

A day out at the temple was great. Got a tan despite my tanned complexion. I look more like a chocolate bar right now. Nevertheless, if you're in Bangkok, YOU MUST visit Wat Pho and the Grand Palace if you have the time.

I couldn't visit the Grand Palace because they closed early at 3.30pm. Wat Pho and The Grand Palace reside side by side. Do check em out. Till then, signing out, your dearest Bangkok Boy.

jamiel
