Suicide

I came to school today late for my 8.30am class. while riding to school, i nearly hit a girl who was crossing the road. well, she wasn't really trying to cross the road. she was more trying to commit suicide because i could see her other 2 friends were trying to tug her away from hitting my bike. WTH. i mean, you want to commit suicide early in the morning. you know what, i dont know whats her problem but dont make me part of your suicide scheme please. i'm not interestedlah. i dont want to hit her, fall, get hit by another incoming car. thats so unglam to die like that.

nadine gave me a call and asked whether i was free to help her be a facilitator for the Bridging Course students. This is program for overseas elite students, as young as 15, who will be taking their SAT test. and if they cut the minimum grade, they will be ensured of a place in SMU. Brilliant young kids but i really think they're too early to embark on this university life. When I was 15, i dont even think about going to a university, let alone going to a junior college. I didnt ask teachers about the choices of Junior colleges that i could go or where i should proceed after secondary school. Questions like, "Eh! Today where are we going to play soccer? Are we going to watch a movie? Isn't that girl sweet?"

Times have changed and perhaps, these are really the creme de la creme of the students in their respective countries. How I envy them for having the opportunity to go overseas and study. Maybe they have yet to see the benefit of being independent and learn to depend on friends in a new environment. Give them the day they graduate and having to leave SMU, i guess that will be the time, where they will reflect the journey that they have taken and truly cherish the moments that they experience from their overseas study.
