SMU was once invaded by skirtains. What are skirtains?
skirtains= skirt + curtains
They are skirts that look like curtains. These are skirts that has multiple pleats. I noe you girls HAVE at least 1. Don't lie! The fashion mafia knows. -nods-
I aint complaining. Don't get me wrong babes. It's just that, while some girls can carry them off (respect to them), others just bleahhhh. I'm just being frank. It would be better for those who doesn't suit this type of attire to try other forms of fashion; jeans or just go ethnic. I could just imagine that a prerequisite to enter SMU is to wear skirtains, 2 palms away from the knee. Shiok!!! Well, i'm just quoting a friend. Don't blame me. Btw, she's a girl and she wears skirtains too.
Is it wrong for us to dress up for class? Is it wrong to be presentable? What is presentable? What is dressing up? You tell me. For all i know, i have a different sense of fashion altogether in my opinion. I dunno whats my fashion sense. Some love Black attires. Some love to look formal and neat. Me? I like to be more... i dunno. i change all da time. if people can tell me whats my sense, do tell, because it would certainly make me happy.
One thing about SMU is that people change from the very day they step on campus. I know. I've seen people change. People learn to be presentable in the eyes of the SMU community. Perhaps it was to live up to the expectation that SMU is the most HIP and fashionable university in SMU. Or perhaps, the need to attract the other sex proves to be a more domineering reason for them to groom up. My gawd, even we have to attend Finishing Touch class. But whatever reason it may be for this "phenomenal" move, it's good for SMU. Everything will be brighter, fresher and unique.
One thing that I'm thankful for is that SMU doesn't have an internal hostel. My gosh! Because, if we do, i would not be surprised to see some of us coming late for class, clad only in shorts and the T-shirt that we had slept in. Don'tlah! Please. Be decent for once. The very fact that SMU students need to go out in PUBLIC and in the eyes of society, it renders us to dress up, decent enough not to be stared at for all the wrong reasons.
Till then, keep up the good work of keeping our SMU fashion in check and I will keep my eyes open for new fashion targets. Would anybody want to join the fashion mafia and contribute some entries?
p.s. anybody has any better taglines to suit da pic? What words come to your head when you see da pic? e.g. "Dont look at me" etc. the picture looks clearer over here (http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=90981937&size=o).
